Year one was something special.
More than 250+ wedding industry professionals took over Washington, D.C. to attend and experience DC Wedding Week. In its first year, DC Wedding Week hosted six events at various wedding and social venues across the city for five exciting days of sharing, learning, and networking.
This new approach to bringing wedding industry professionals together was created to cultivate a diverse experience and space for wedding industry professionals to gather, share, celebrate and inspire one another for the good of the industry, their business, and engaged couples. Attendees included planners, caterers, photographers, florist, rental companies and other creative industry professionals who contribute to various types of weddings.
Part conference part experiential, attendees traveled from Baltimore, the Washington, D.C. metro area and New York to join interactive workshops, a panel discussion with D.C. based industry disruptors, a live wedding experience showcasing 17 wedding vendors and a social that included networking and an awards presentation recognizing Industry Trailblazers Jodie Moraru and Bruce Pike and Industry Disruptors Yodit Gebreyes Endale and Tiffany Maclsaac. Each event provided content and conversations based on real-life experiences – and successes and lessons learned by the Speakers.
Speakers included influential industry professionals like Jamie Kutchman Wynne of Marigold & Grey, Alex and Keyon Hammond of Get Plated Catering, Lauren Anderson and Rachel Bridgewood of Sweet Root Village, Jon’ll Boyd of Completely Yours Events, Sara Campbell of Pollyanna Events, Lauren Scott of Tickled Photobooth and others.
Founded by Jasmine Smith of Smith + Co., DC Wedding Week will be an annual event returning to Washington, DC – the flagship location, April 23-25, 2019. There will be micro events (Coffee and Conversation) taking place throughout the year around the U.S. Tickets for the 2019 event go on sale January 2, 2019.
